Kisvárda FC, later known as Várda SE, were founded in 1911 as Kisvárdai Sport Egyesület (KSE). On 1 April 1970 the football team was merged with other local sports clubs forming the Kisvárda Sports Association. Despite this KSE were closed in 2001 due to financial problems.
A new football club was formed in 2003 called Várda SE was formed in 2003 only in Kisvárda.
In 2013, when the team won promotion to the NB II, the club decided to re-name Kisvárda on the basis of historical traditions and replace the former Várda SE coat of arms. Since the 2013–14 season, the official name of the club is Kisvárda Master Good FC.
Kisvárda were promoted to the NB1 for season 2018-19 having finished 2nd in the NB2 and have been there since.
