37 year old Sascha Stegemann is a public administrator from Niederkassel in Germany. He has been a Bundesliga 1 referee since 2014 and earned his FIFA badge in 2019. This is his first outing with Djurgårdens IF, prviously he has refereed AIK Solna in a UCL qualifying match in 19/20 and Hammerby IF in a UEL qualifier in 20/21. In terms of Romanian teams, he was the referee for the away defeat for Romania in their Nations League B game v Bosnia-Herzegovina.

36 year old Jérôme Brisard has been a FIFA listed referee since 2018. In season 20/21 he refereed Slovenia – Moldova in the Nations League C. In terms of Hungarian teams he refereed Újpest – FC Basel 1893 in the UECL 3QR. This is his first outing with either team.

Əliyar Ağayev (Aliyar Aghayev) is 34 years old and hails from Baku, Azerbaijan has been on the FIFA list since 2013. He made the FIFA list very young. He has refereed FCSB twice previously, in 17/18 he took charge of their 2-2 home draw v FC Viktoria Plzen in the UCL QR3 and in 20/21 he was referee for the their 2-0 defeat v FC Slovan Liberec in the UEL 3QR, he has also refereed the Romanian National team in 18/19 in their 3-0 away win v Faroe Islands in the Euros qualifiers. He has never refereed FC DAC but has refereed the Slovakian U19 team twice and the mens team once in 20/21 during the World Cup qualifying match v Cyprus.

43 year Tamás Bognár from Sárvár is Hungary’s top referee since the retirement of Viktor Kassai. His only involvement with either nation has been at national team level. In season 16/17 he refereed the World Cup qualifiers match Turkey v Kosovo. In season 18/19 he refereed Iceland v Andorra in the Euros qualifiers. Sok Sikert Tamás.

37 year old István Kovács is currently the rising star in the world of refereeing. He holds dual Romanian/Hungarian citizenship. In the past year or so he has been selected for the Euros 2020 where he refereed a group stage match between Netherlands v North Macedonia and appeared twice as 4th official, and has been selected for the World Cup in Qatar. After 2 flawless performances in the Champions League quarter finals and Champions League semi finals he was rewarded with the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League final in Tirana between A.S.Roma v Feyenoord and again performed flawlessly. The referees selected for the World Cup are starting their preparation matches now. He has not refereed either team before. Sok Sikert István.
