Kassai to referee Charity Shield in Maldives
Former Hungarian elite referee Viktor Kassai, now head of refereeing in Russia, is due to referee the charity shield in the Maldives on Tuesday 8th December.
Last years Champions of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League, Maziya Sports & Recreation Club are due to play against runner up club, Eagles. The charity shield is normally contested between the league winners and the FA Cup winners, however as last seasons FA cup was cancelled due to the coronavirus the league runners up will be this years opponents.
The winning team of the match will receive MVR 100,000 as prize money, which is traditionally donated to the partner charities. The Football Association of Maldives is yet to announce the amount allocated for donation this year.
The partner charities are Advocating the Right of Children (ARC), Special Olympics Maldives and Blood donors of Maldives.
