Laszlo Prukner Resigns From Ferencvaros

Laszlo Prukner has resigned from Ferencváros with immediate effect following a poor run of form in the league where Fradi could only muster two points from the first five games.

Csaba Laszlo is tipped to be Prukner’s replacement at the Florian Albert Stadion and will meet with the board later today.

Prukner’s resignation comes after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to rivals Honvéd.

Prukner had come under increasing pressure at Ferencváros ever since the Europa League exit to Aalesund back in July where Fradi managed to throw away a two-goal lead to lose to the Norweigans in extra-time.

Prukner, who lead Fradi to a 3rd place finish last season said, “After a long reflection I have decided to leave Ferencváros as I believe the club need a fresh start and a new man to drive them forward.”

The Ferencváros chairman paid tribute to Prukner’s one year reign, “I would like to thanks Laszlo for his time at the club. He performed a highly professional job which allowed Ferencváros football club to progress emphatically.”
