Bio: Residing from Sarvar, Zoltán Stieber moved to England to play for Aston Villa at the age of just 17 after stints at both Goldball ’94’s and Újpest’s academy sides.
Stieber learnt most of his trade at Aston Villa and was there for four years without making a single competitive appearance for the English club. However, Stieber impressed time and time again for Aston Villa’s reserves and was one of the better players in the first team’s tour of US and Canada in 2007.
After two more years in the reserves, Stieber finally moved on to TuS Koblenz in January 2009 after unsuccessful trials at Norwich City and Blackpool. Stieber played 38 games for TuS and there he caught the eye of many clubs.
Aachen were the side to sign him in 2010 and during the 2010/2011 season, Stieber became the highest assist maker in the league with 17, and also chipped in with 10 goals.
During his superb season in Bundesliga 2, Stieber was again linked with a move elsewhere with Kaiserslauten among the interested parties. However, Stieber signed in March for Mainz who later claimed a Europa League spot after their impressive finish. Stieber completed his move to Mainz in June 2011.
