After his second goal in as many starts, Marko Futacs couldn't have asked for a better start to his career under new boss, Michael Appleton. Speaking to FourFourTwo.hu, the 21 year old striker seemed to be thrilled with his impact at Portsmouth.

"These were two of the most important games of my career. I felt good going into the game vs Leicester and when I was told I was playing I was so thrilled."

Futacs had an immediate impact on the game against Leicester scoring to make it 1-0 after just 20 minutes.

"When the ball hit the net the feeling was unmatched by anything. It was incredible," said Futacs.

And today Futacs again was granted a start, and again he delivered by heading Portsmouth into a 1-0 lead in the second half.

"Something I needed to concentrate on was my heading, so when I scored today I ran to the coach with who I've been practicing with."

Even for a man of his stature, his ability in the air has been questioned over his short career so to get a goal with his head will definitely boost his confidence. Something that hasn't been questioned however, is his ability to strike a ball and later in the second half, Futacs again went close with a powerful left-footed shot that cannoned off the crossbar.

Portsmouth play Chelsea next Sunday in a repeat of the 2010 FA Cup final in which Pompey came so close to causing an upset.

"I'm looking forward to the rest, but I'm more excited about Chelsea on Sunday. I just hope I get picked." And after becoming something of a hit with the fans in recent weeks, I think the fans will be hoping he's on the teamsheet come next weekend.
