Introduction

Mr Erdős was born in Budapest on 12th July 1977. His father, also named József was also a top flight referee. His sister Katalin was a footballer, playing in midfield for Renova Spartacus, she also played for and captained the National team in 3 matches. Having passed his referee exam in 1995, Mr Erdős began officiating in the Budapest Football Association leagues (BLSZ) before working his way up to the professional leagues.

Mr Erdős was first promoted to the NB1 ahead of season 2002/03 and made his debut at the Káosztás Út Stadion on 28th August, 2002 in a match between FC Sopron v Siófok. He remained on the NB1 until the end of season 2005/06, when he was demoted back to the NB2 following low merit marks. He continued to work hard and improve himself and as a result was given another chance in the NB1 at the start of season 2012/13. On 01.07.13 he became one of Hungary’s first 12 professional referees.
