Hungary’s top referee will be absent from the NB1 for the last 2 weeks of the season, before the winter break, as he has headed out to Japan for the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup. He is accompanied by his regular European AR’s György Ring and Vencel Tóth. They are the only match officials representing the UEFA confederation.

The 2016 FIFA Club World Cup (officially known as the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016 presented by Alibaba E-Auto for sponsorship reasons) will be the 13th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA-organised international club football tournament between the champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations, as well as the national league champion from the host country. The tournament will be hosted by Japan.

This years teams are: Real Madrid (UEFA); Atlético Nacional (CONMEBOL); Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (AFC); Mamelodi Sundowns (CAF); América (CONCACAF); Auckland City (OFC) although the host nation team is yet to be confirmed. The second leg of the final will take place on Saturday 3 December between Urawa Red Diamonds and Kashima Antlers, with the former going into the fixture with a 1-0 advantage. The winner will represent the host nation.

The tournament itself will be played between 8-18 December and will take place at the Suita City Football Stadium in Osaka and the International Stadium Yokohama, with the latter to host the final having also previously been the venue for the deciding match of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan between Brazil and Germany. The tournament opener is on 8th December between the host representatives v Auckland City, with a further 6 matches taking place across the following 10 days before the final on 18th December.
