Hungarians Abroad Roundup – 9-13th September

 

    • The weekend kicked off with a great start for the Magyars as Daniel Tozser netted the winner with just 5 minutes to win it 4-3 for Genk. Laszlo Koteles played the whole game for the Belgian champions too.

    • Imre Szabics was involved in both goals for Sturm Graz who went down 4-2 to Admira. Szabics scored the first and set up the second.

    • David Grof played the whole game for Walsall but couldn’t prevent two unstoppable volleys getting past him in their 2-1 loss to Notts County.
    • Marko Futacs made his debut for Portsmouth as a substitute with 5 minutes to go versus West Ham. The game ended 4-3 to United, and Futacs came on at 4-2.
    • Zoltán Stieber came on with 20 minutes to go in Mainz’s 4-0 loss at home to Hoffenheim. Stieber came on at 2-0.
    • Tamas Hajnal also came off the bench for Stuttgart in their 3-0 win over Hannover. Hajnal came on at 1-0 and assisted the third for VFB.
    • Robert Feczesin again netted the winner for Brescia in their 1-0 win over Juve Stabia. That’s his third goal in four games this season.

    • Krisztian Vadócz and Gabor Babos both played for NEC in their 1-0 loss to De Graafschap. Vadócz came on after an hour while Babos played the whole game.

    • Szabolcs Huszti played half an hour for Zenit in their 4-2 loss away at Lokomotic Moscow. Huszti came on at 2-2.
    • Half-Hungarian Miku scored twice as Getafe went down 4-2 away to Real Madrid.

    • Roland Juhász played the whole game for Anderlecht in their 2-0 win over Kortrijk. Peter Czvitkovics remained on the bench for KV.
    • Gabor Király conceded four in 1860 Munich’s 4-2 defeat to St. Pauli.

    • Vilmos Vanczák played the whole game for FC Sion in their 3-0 victory over FC Thun.
    • Lazar Pal played the whole game for Samunspor in their 3-2 win over Gencelerbirligi.
    • Laszlo Koteles and Daniel Tozser both played the whole game for Genk in their 0-0 draw with Valencia. Koteles was the hero with some great saves to keep the score at 0-0

Akos Buzsaky, Vladimir Koman, Peter Gulacsi were all on the bench for their clubs.
