Hungarians Abroad Roundup – 26-28th August

There were a lot of Hungarians in action across Europe over the weekend. Here’s a look at how they did:
  • Tamas Hajnal played 73 minutes in Stuttgart’s 1-0 defeat away to Hertha Berlin
  • Zsolt Korcsmár played the whole game for Brann in their 1-1 draw with Tromso.
  • Imre Szabics played 73 minutes for Sturm in their 5-0 win over Neustadt. He went off at 4-0.
  • Daniel Tozser and Laszlo Koteles both played the whole game in Genk’s 0-0 draw at home too Mechelen.
  • Peter Czvitkovics played 64 minutes for Kortrijk in their 4-0 win over St. Truiden. Czvitkovics went off at 2-0.
  • Peter Kovacs came off at half time in Lierse’s 1-0 defeat to Gent. His performance was described by @thebelgwaffle “Peter Kovacs was felled like a giant Redwood tree in Lierse’s defeat.”
  • Ákos Buzsáky played 72 minutes in QPR’s 2-0 defeat to Wigan. Akos did well without performing any miracles. He struggled with the lack of movement from the striker ahead of him.
  • David Grof made his league debut for Walsall and kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 win away at Bournemouth. According to @BescotBanter “Grof was solid after an unsure start, clean sheet debut. Grof needs to improve communication with his back line but was good otherwise, held off early B’mouth dominance.”
  • Ádám Vass and Robert Feczesin both played the whole game for Brescia in their 2-0 victory of Vicenza. Feczesin also got on the scoresheet –
  • Gabor Babos played the whole game for NEC in their 2-1 win over Heracles.
  • Balázs Dzsudzsák was stretchered off in Anzhi’s 1-1 draw with Rostov. Dzsudzsák will be out for up to 6 weeks with a shoulder injury.
  • Roland Juhász played the whole game for Anderlecht in their 1-1 draw with Club Brugge. Juhász set up the final goal – (7:21)
  • Zoltán Stieber played 78 minutes for Mainz, drawing 1-1 away to Hannover. Stieber played well but didn’t have a huge impact on the game. He also hit the post from a shot/cross –! (0:31)
  • Gabor Király played the whole game for 1860 Munich in  their 3-1 victory over Union Berlin.
  • Szabolcs Huszti played 4 minutes for Zenit in their 5-0 win over Krasnodar. He came on at 4-0 and grabbed an assist –
  • Ádám Pinter played 40 minutes in Zaragoza’s 6-0 defeat to Real Madrid. He came on at 2-0 and hardly got a touch of the ball.
  • Vilmos Vanczák played the whole game for FC Sion in their heavy 4-0 home loss to Servette.
If I have missed anyone out, or you know how a player performed this weekend please let me know either in the comments section or on Twitter @HungariaFootbal – Many thanks.
