I tell you what; I can’t wait for the Champions League and Europa League draw tomorrow, and I’m sure neither can many Magyar Foci fans. Videoton, Paks, Ferencváros and Kecskemét are all involved from Hungary with the Champions League draw for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds coming first at 12:00 CET from Nyon.

Videoton will be hoping to avoid last season’s UEFA Champions League group stage participants, Partizan Belgrade of Serbia along with Maccabi Haifa, Dinamo Zagreb, Sturm Graz and APOEL FC but there won’t be any easy ties in the 2nd qualifying round. However saying that, I can tell you now, Sousa’s men will definitely be eyeing up Shamrock Rovers of Ireland who seem to be the weak links out of the seeded teams, but with Videoton being unseeded in the draw, this will make things a lot harder to qualify for UEFA’s showpiece tournament.

The second qualifying round ties take place on 12/13 and 19/20 July with the winners already knowing their opponents when they join 13 other sides in the third qualifying round draw on 15 July. This all comes after the first qualifying round on 28/29 June and 5/6 July.

The Europa League draw for the 1st and 2nd round will come straight after the Champions League draw at approximately 13:00 CET with over 105 teams involved in the draw. Paks and Ferencváros will both enter at the first qualifying round but both teams will be seeded for the draw, potentially giving them easier ties. They’ll probably want to avoid Olimpija Ljubljanaof Slovenia and FK Zeta from Montenegro.

The Europa League first round qualifiers will be held on 30 June and 7 July.

Kecskemét will enter at the second qualifying round thanks to their Magyar Kupa win and will be unseeded for the draw, as will Paks and Ferencváros if they both win their ties. They will want to avoid a tie with 2010 finalists Fulham, 2010 Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg and 2010/2011 Champions League group stage contestants MSK Zilina with FC Aktobe and Bohemians FC looking very appetizing.

The Europa League second round qualifiers will take place on the 14 and 21 July.

The draw will have to be kind to the Hungarian teams if they have any chance of qualifying for Europe this season, so from 12:00 CET tomorrow, everyone needs to have their fingers crossed for the Magyar teams.
